Symbol "crossed-out waste bin" and obligation to remove waste
Your obligations under the German Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG): According to Section 10 I SAccording to Section 1 of the German Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG), as the owner of electrical appliances, you are obliged to dispose of them separately from unsorted municipal waste.
According to § 10 I SAccording to Section 2 of the German Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG), you are obligated to remove waste batteries and accumulators that are not enclosed within the electrical device, as well as lamps that can be removed from the device without damage, from the device before handing it over to a collection point. This does not apply if, according to Section 14, Paragraph 4, Sentence 4 or Paragraph 5, Sentences 2 and 3 of the ElektroG, used devices are separated to prepare them for reuse. If a device is marked with the following symbol, this has the following meaning:

This is the symbol for the separate collection of electrical and electronic equipment. The aforementioned obligations for separate collection apply in particular to devices bearing this symbol.

Our obligations under the German Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG): If you purchase an electrical or electronic device from our online shop, we will take back, free of charge, a device of the same type that performs essentially the same functions as the new device upon delivery to your private household. This applies regardless of the category of your device, but it must be of the same type. Other return options
Owners of old electrical appliances from private households can also hand in the old appliances at the collection points of the public waste disposal authorities or at the take-back points set up by manufacturers or distributors within the meaning of the German Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG).

Meaning of the battery symbols
The symbols on the batteries have the following meanings: The crossed-out trash can symbol means that the battery must not be disposed of in household waste. For batteries containing a certain amount of lead, cadmium, or mercury, the following additional information below the crossed-out trash can symbol indicates the presence of the respective hazardous substances:
- Pb = battery contains more than 0.004% lead by mass
- Cd = battery contains more than 0.002 percent by mass of cadmium
- Hg = Battery contains more than 0.0005% mercury by mass
